Fiona then worked as the Assistant Director of the University of North Carolina’s employee wellness programme and gained further exercise testing qualifications before training to be a massage therapist and moving into her own business. She offered remedial, sports and relaxation massage and wellness coaching to a diverse clientele including executives, athletes, artists and chronic pain patients over 9 years.

Fiona then developed an integrative wellness service for a large retirement community in North Carolina before returning to the UK in 2006. She began her work at the University of Derby as a Senior Lecturer and gained her doctorate in Education in 2012.
